World Hepatitis Day Proclamation

SWBC President Gary Dudley and his wife, Margaret, are throwing their support behind an effort to raise awareness for World Hepatitis Day.

The Dudleys are working to get signatures for a petition urging two pharmaceutical companies, Gilead Sciences and Bristol-Myers Squibb, to collaborate on the development of a drug that had a success rate of 100 percent during Phase II clinical trials. More than 170 million people throughout the world are infected by some form of Hepatitis.
The local World Hepatitis Day event is taking place on Saturday, July 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at The Cove. San Antonio residents are asked to stop by for free chips and salsa and to sign the petition. The Spurs Coyote will make a special appearance and there will be a drawing for an autographed Tony Parker jersey. Financial services firm SWBC is a co-owner in the San Antonio Spurs.
